Xiaowang AI Translate Terms of Service
Please read these Terms before using Xiaowang AI Translate. Pay particular attention to the provisions on third-party services, translation results, disclaimers, and limitation of liability.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service form an agreement between you and Popvee ("Popvee," "we," "us," or "our") governing your installation of, access to, or use of the Xiaowang AI Translate Chrome browser extension, related webpages, translation interfaces, speech-recognition interfaces, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By installing, accessing, or using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Services.
2. Service Description
Xiaowang AI Translate provides webpage translation, bilingual video subtitles, selection translation, hover translation, text and subtitle-content translation, SRT/VTT subtitle-file translation, and audio subtitle translation for the current tab when actively enabled by the user. Some functions may rely on translation, speech-recognition, network, or infrastructure services provided by Popvee or third parties. The current version does not provide a separate account registration or login system.
3. Eligibility
You must have the legal capacity required under applicable law to use the Services. Minors should review these Terms and use the Services only with the consent, supervision, and guidance of a parent or guardian. If you use the Services for an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf.
4. Software License
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Popvee grants you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, and non-transferable license to install and use Xiaowang AI Translate through its normal product functions. Except where applicable law expressly permits otherwise, this license does not permit you to copy, sell, rent, sublicense, distribute, or otherwise commercialize the Services.
5. Permitted and Prohibited Uses
You must use the Services lawfully and in good faith. You must not:
- use the Services for unlawful, fraudulent, infringing, harassing, or harmful conduct;
- upload, process, or distribute content you have no right to use, malware, attack code, or other harmful material;
- interfere with, damage, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Services, servers, networks, or another user's device;
- circumvent reasonable access, security, rate, or feature restrictions, or abuse service resources through automation;
- reverse engineer, decompile, defeat, or attempt to extract source code except where applicable law expressly permits it; or
- impersonate another person, misrepresent an affiliation with Popvee, or remove proprietary notices.
6. User Inputs and Subtitle Files
You are responsible for webpage text, subtitles, audio, SRT/VTT files, and other content that you enter, select, upload, or ask the Services to process. You must have the rights or other lawful basis needed to process that content. You retain any rights you lawfully hold in your inputs. The Services may temporarily process relevant content to perform the function you request; information handling is described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Third-Party Services and API Keys
The Services may support translation, speech-recognition, or infrastructure services from DeepL, OpenAI, Claude, Google, Bing, or other third parties, and may let you configure your own service URL and API key. Third-party services are governed by their own terms, privacy policies, quotas, and pricing. You are responsible for charges and obligations arising between you and a third party. You must protect any API key you configure and must not expose it to unauthorized persons. Popvee does not control the content, accuracy, security, continuity, or availability of third-party services.
8. Translation Results and Your Judgment
Machine translation, speech recognition, and AI-generated results may contain omissions, mistranslations, delays, or inaccuracies. You should verify results according to your use case. Do not rely on the Services as the sole basis for medical, legal, financial, safety-related, or other high-risk decisions. Your reliance on unverified results remains subject to the circumstances and applicable law.
9. Intellectual Property
Intellectual property rights in Xiaowang AI Translate and its interfaces, designs, software, documentation, trademarks, logos, and related content belong to Popvee or the applicable lawful rights holders. These Terms do not transfer those rights to you and do not limit rights you lawfully hold in your own input content.
10. Free Service, Availability, and Changes
Core functions of the current version are provided without charge, but this is not a promise that they will remain free permanently. We may adjust, suspend, or discontinue functions for security, compliance, technical, cost, or operational reasons. Where reasonably practicable, we will communicate material changes through the website, extension interface, Chrome Web Store page, or another appropriate channel. Maintenance, networks, third-party services, or events beyond reasonable control may interrupt the Services.
11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not make warranties beyond those required by law that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely accurate, or fit for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Popvee is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of or inability to use the Services, third-party services, user configurations, data loss, or reliance on unverified translation results. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or mandatory consumer rights.
12. Ending Use of the Services
You may stop using the Services at any time by uninstalling the extension. If you violate these Terms or applicable law, or your conduct creates a security or legal risk for the Services, other users, or third parties, we may reasonably restrict, suspend, or terminate all or part of the Services available to you.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the Services or legal requirements and will identify the updated date on this page. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide additional notice of changes that materially affect your rights or obligations. Updated Terms apply from their stated effective date. To the extent permitted by applicable law, continuing to use the Services after that date indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Applicable Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms and the relationship between you and the Services are governed by the laws that are legally applicable to them. If a dispute occurs, the parties should first attempt to resolve it through good-faith discussion. If discussion does not resolve it, either party may submit the dispute to a court or dispute-resolution body with lawful jurisdiction. This section does not affect mandatory consumer protections available to you under applicable law.
